Wheat flour tortillas recipe
- 500 g wheat flour
- ⅓ of tbsp. of salt
- 150 g lard or vegetable
- 1 cup of hot water
- 1 tbsp. baking powder

- Mix the flour with the salt and the baking powder.
- Make a hole with the flour and place the butter in the center. Mix and add the hot water little by little until you achieve a soft consistency.
- Divide the dough and make small balls, depending on the size you want tortillas.

History of the wheat tortilla
With the Conquest, the Spanish introduced the sowing of wheat in America. However, they did not have the necessary ingredients to make bread, so they began to make zaruki, a mixture of broken wheat with water, which would later become wheat flour tortillas.
