Today as an aperitif we have eaten some fried cheese sticks that we have accompanied by a bit of Antequera’s baton. The truth is that the combination has been great, at the end of the day it is like accompanying it with a little tomato sauce but different.
In this recipe I have used emmenthal cheese and gouda although you can use any other cheese that melts, mozzarella, cheddar, etc. The thing is to vary from time to time and especially in cheese intensities.
Ingredients for 4 people
- 100 gr of emmenthal cheese, 100 gr of gouda cheese, olive oil, flour, egg and breadcrumbs.
Preparation of fried cheese bars
We cut the cheese into bars and we pass it through an egg. Then for flour, again for egg and finally for breadcrumbs.
The trick to this recipe is to seal the cheese well and at the same time not make a very thick breading with many layers. Surely if we do not seal the cheese well, a hole will open and the cheese will come out.
We fry the bars in very hot oil for a minute and let the oil drain on absorbent paper.
Processing time | 15 minutes
Difficulty | Easy
As I mentioned at the beginning, I have accompanied the fried cheese sticks with Antequeran baton, but you can accompany them with barbecue sauce, ketchup or any other sauce. Of course, you have to eat them hot that you enjoy much more.
