  1. Flaxseed has a high content of alpha-linolenic polyunsaturated fatty acid (Omega-3), which represents 50-55% of the total fatty acids of its composition, while the fibers represent about 40% of its total weight, being 10% soluble and 30% insoluble, in addition to proteins, lignins, vitamins and minerals.
  2. The insoluble fiber of this oilseed increases the volume of feces and reduces the time of intestinal transit
  3. Soluble fiber exerts a hypoglycemic and hypocholesterolemic effect, with the formation of a gel that helps reduce the absorption of cholesterol and glucose.
  4. Various flaxseed preparations contribute to a significant decrease in total cholesterol and ‘bad’ cholesterol (LDL), although flaxseed does not have much of an effect on ‘good’ cholesterol (HDL).
  5. The effects that flaxseed has on cholesterol and blood clotting allow it to reduce the risk of hardening of the arteries (arteriosclerosis).
  6. Relieves hot flashes and night sweats in women with mild menopausal symptoms. It is recommended that they consume 30 grams a day of this seed.
  7. Excellent option for vegetarian diets, due to its contribution of protein of vegetable origin.
  8. Flaxseed contains mucilage and pectins that help soften the skin, as well as reduce the appearance of wrinkles, lighten blemishes and eliminate toxins that cause acne breakouts. It is also rich in antibacterial components such as acetic, malic, ferulic acid, lutein and cysteine, which help repair and protect your skin from premature aging.
  9. Being rich in Omega-3 (alpha linolenic acid), docosahexaenoic acid and eicosapentaenoic acid helps promote hair growth.
  10. Flaxseed water is a super solution for frizzy hair. It is simply spread all over the hair and allowed to dry naturally.
